The Clean Energy Fund (CEF) has a total of $191.4 million available to co-fund renewable energy and clean energy systems projects to March 31st, 2014. Projects must have a minimum CEF contribution of $2.5 million and CEF funding per project will not exceed $50 million. The deadline for the receipt of full Project Proposals is September 14, 2009. SDTC’s SD Tech Fund™ invests in late-stage development and pre-commercial demonstration of clean technologies by Canadian companies. The Statement of Interest (SOI) is an initial application used for preliminary screening and is subject to a competitive review process by SDTC and a panel of independent experts. SOIs are evaluated on the basis of fit with SDTC’s mandate, selection criteria, and the quality of technology, marketing and business capabilities. A limited set of applicants who demonstrate the strongest fit will be invited back to submit a full proposal for deeper evaluation.

Ottawa, Ontario, September 3, 2008 – Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC), the largest single funder of clean technology in Canada, announced today that the $550M SD Tech Fund™ is open for Statements of Interest (SOI) for its fourteenth round of funding until October 22, 2008.
SDTC is a not-for-profit corporation created by the Government of Canada to finance and support the late-stage development and pre-commercial demonstration of clean technologies. SDTC provides seed-stage funding to clean technology projects at this critical juncture when capital and scaling costs become formidable challenges and the risk profile deters most other investors.

The technology developed by farmer and engineer Paul Klaesi and his brother Fritz won a $50,000 innovation award from the Ontario government this year, and now tourists are flocking to their farm in Foresters Falls, about 100 kilometres northwest of Ottawa.
